Enterprise Architecture

Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a conceptual blueprint that clearly defines the framework and operational functions of an organization. Its purpose is to determine how an organization can leverage inherent strengths and available technologies to effectively achieve its current and future objectives. It provides a roadmap for business and technology re-ordering. Using metrics to measure the quality and quantity of both business processes and supporting IT infrastructure, it helps the decision-making process, improves adaptability to change, eliminates inefficient and redundant processes, optimizes the use of organizational assets, minimizes employee turnover, and protects existing IT investments to the extent possible.

A typical EA design is built around the following:

  • Defining the organization's goals and business objectives, its hierarchical structure, its business functions, and the processes and standards that drive its day-to-day operations
  • Defining the organization's application portfolio and the interdependencies of various components, as well as plans for upgrades and future expansion
  • Defining and classifying the information that the organization needs to operate efficiently, and defining data management policies and information collection and consumption patterns to enable the enterprise to develop a common, shared, distributed, accurate and consistent data resource
  • Defining the technology infrastructure such as hardware, software, operating systems and networking solutions that the organization depends upon to realize its business objectives

The primary purpose of EA is to ensure that business strategy and IT investments are in tune with each other. Establishing a visible enterprise architecture involves transitioning through several phases. PVM Innvensys has carried out numerous EA implementations, and has in the process acquired a wealth of knowledge that it can leverage to steer organizations through these phases. We have a comprehensive range of flexible EA solutions that can be tailored to meet specific requirements of organizations under various business verticals.

Working hand in hand with client staff, Innvensys creates several iterative and incremental models based on use-cases and business rules to identify the apt model for an intended purpose. It may also become imperative to incorporate changes to an established enterprise architecture in order to improve efficiency levels or in response to evolving business scenarios. Innvensys helps with this re-engineering process too, involving the services of clients' in-house teams to prioritize and implement the changes.
